It happened again, but this time, the show will go on.
UFC flyweight Ian McCall(13-5-1)’s planned UFC 208 bout with Northern Ireland’s Neil Seery (16-12-0) was scrapped when Seery pulled out after publicly announcing on Facebook the need to be with family after the death of his mother-in-law.
The UFC officially announced today Jarred Brooks (11-0-0), 23, will replace Seery and make his octagon debut against McCall instead. “The Monkey God’s” last fight was a second-round knockout win over Jun Nakamura at Pancrease 281 last October.
McCall and Seery were originally supposed to clash at UFC Fight Night 99 in what was supposed to be the 37-year-old Seery’s retirement bout, but McCall was pulled from the card at the last minute with an illness, part of a five-fight cancellation streak. “Uncle Creepy’s” last fight was a catchweight decision loss to John Lineker at UFC 183 in January 2015.
