Bellator MMA announced yesterday that former UFC welterweight star Josh Koscheck (17-10-0) will compete against Mauricio Alonso (12-7-0, 1NC) at the company’s Bellator 172: Fedor vs Mitrione Feb. 18.

Koscheck is widely known for his fights against Georges St-Pierre and Paul Daley and it’s no secret that Daley is on his radar.

The 39-year-old “Kos” is currently in the midst of a five-fight losing streak. He hasn’t fought since losing to Erick Silva in March 2015 and is looking to generate some momentum with an impressive win over the 36-year-old Alonso.

Alonso has a single Bellator bout of experience, but the Brazilian is enjoying a two-fight win streak.

Bellator 172 is scheduled for Feb 18. at the SAP Center in San Jose, California. Fedor Emelianenko takes on Matt Mitrione in the main event. It can be seen live and free on SPIKE TV beginning at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT with prelims streamed on Bellator.com.
