Two veteran Japanese lightweights have been added to Tokyo’s UFC Fight Night 117 in September.

Dong Hyun Kim (14-8-3), who started in 2007 in the Spirit Martial Challenge promotion as an 18 year old teenager, will take on former  PRIDE and Shooto champion Takanori Gomi (35-13-0, 1NC).

Both fighters are looking to generate some needed momentum in the octagon. Kim is 1-2-0 in the UFC, with his last fight a decision win over Brendan O’Reilly at the TUF 24 Finale.

Gomi is on the bubble, with four consecutive stoppage defeats, losing to Jon Tuck in his last bout at UFC Fight Night 111 in June.
