MMA Crossfire – Jon Jones out with leg injury; UFC 178 main event moved to January 3rd

Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier will not be headlining UFC 178 this September in Las Vegas.

The record-setting UFC-light-heavyweight champion suffered an leg injury according to a short UFC announcement this evening.

The bout will be moved to January 3rd at the MGM Grand Garden arena in Las Vegas.

Replacing Jones and Cormier grudge match is the flyweight title match with “Mighty Mouse” Demetrious Johnson and Chris Cariaso, initially scheduled for the UFC 177 co-main event on August 30th.
