MMA Crossfire – Urijah Faber and Francisco Rivera agree to clash at UFC 181

The California Kid is back.

Former WEC champion and Team Alpha Male leader Urijah Faber (31-7-0) will face Francisco “Cisco” Rivera (10-3-0, 1 NC) at UFC 181 in December.

Faber submitted Alex Caceres at UFC 175 in June, while Rivera is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Takeya Mizugaki at UFC 173. Cisco has won six of his last seven bouts.

Faber continues to work his way slowly back towards another title shot.

The bout was verbally agreed to Wednesday October 15th.

Other scheduled bouts include former boxing champion and women’s bantamweight Holly Holm (7-0-0) gets her first fight against Invicta FC alum Raquel Pennington (4-5-0).

Heavyweights #3 Travis Browne (16-2-1) and Brendan Schaub (11-4-0) will battle, TUF 20 coaches Anthony Pettis (17-2-0) and Gilbert Melendez (22-3-0) will fight with the lightweight crown on the line.

The main event features Johny Hendricks (16-2-0) defending his welterweight title in a rematch against Robbie Lawler (24-10-0, 1 NC).
