MMA Crossfire – War Machine on suicide watch in Las Vegas jail

32-year-old Jonathan Koppenhaver a.k.a. MMA fighter War Machine, tried to hang himself in his Las Vegas cell Tuesday October 14th, according to the authorities at the Clark County Detention Center.

According to a CNN report, the fighter was found unresponsive by Officer Jose HernandezĀ on his routine watch with a suicide note.

War Machine was the subject of a manhunt by police after he went on the lam after beating up his girlfriend, adult film actress Christy Mack August 8th.

He is currently being held without bail at the Clark County Detention Center.

Mack suffered extensive injuries, including eighteen broken bones.

Koppenhaver tweeted several messages while on the lam, explaining he wanted to surprise Mack with a ring, but found her with another man.

Mack’s friend Kendall Karson created a GiveForward campaign to help with Mack’s medical expenses. As of this writing, approximately $98,000 USD has been raised towards the target of $100,000 USD.

Koppenhaver is still facing several charges, including domestic battery, and attempted murder.
