The UFC announced today in a press release the renewing of their partnership with the national governing body for wrestling in the United States, USA Wrestling.
The partnership renewal marks its second consecutive year, promoting joint interests in wrestling and mixed martial arts, in addition to supportive projects.

“USA Wrestling is pleased to renew its partnership with UFC, coming off a successful first year working together,” USA Wrestling executive director Rich Bender said. “Our sports are closely entwined, and there are many ways we can help support each other. We look forward to finding creative and effective ways to add even more value to this strong relationship.”
“We are extremely excited to renew our partnership with USA Wrestling and continue to build on the success we’ve experienced over the last year,” UFC vice-president of federation relationships and corporate social responsibility Lou Lauria said. “UFC has a long and rich history supporting the development of amateur athletes and our relationship with USA Wrestling dates back to the very beginning of UFC.”
Wrestling is one of the fundamental regimens of the sport, with athletes like Olympic silver medalist Sara McMann, light-heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier and former welterweight champion Johny Hendricks representing its forefront.
The UFC promotes wrestling through its network and resources, including social and digital media, broadcasts, while USA Wrestling promotes the UFC to it’s community of 250,000 members with exclusive offers.
