ONE Championship flyweight Yang Jian Bing (5-1-0) died today, hours after he was unable to make weight for a scheduled bout on the company’s Spirit of Champions card.
Bing, a native of China, was hospitalized December 10th at the San Juan De Dios Hospital in Pasay, Philippines when he collapsed suddenly, according to a somber company release.
Although it is being tied to weight-cutting complications, the official cause of death was cardiopulmonary failure at 12:06PM with formal reports and procedures still pending.

“There is nothing more profoundly tragic and sad than when a member of the ONE Championship family, current or past, passes away,” ONE FC Victor Cui said. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and loved ones of Yang Jian Bing. Bing’s scheduled opponent Geje Eustaquio (6-4-0) commented about his canceled bout with Bing in a Facebook post.
Yang debuted in ONE Championship as a 20-year-old flyweight, going 2-1-0.
