UFC Fight Night 85: Hunt walks off Mir after a single devastating straight right

Mark Hunt landed a single devastating straight right strike to put away Frank Mir in the first round at UFC Fight Night 85.

Both fighters jockeyed for position with Mir trying to grab a leg at times, but Hunt stuffed everything and capitalized when Mir came into the pocket to throw.

BEC RAWLINGS  VS SEOHEE HAM

UFC Fight Night 85

Opponents Bec Rawlings of Australia and Seohee Ham of South Korea face off during the UFC Fight Night weigh-in at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on March 19, 2016 in Brisbane, Australia. (Photo by Josh Hedges/Zuffa LLC/Zuffa LLC via Getty Images)

WINNER: BEC RAWLINGS VIA UNANIMOUS DECISION (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)

ANDREWS PREDICTION: SEOHEE HAM VIA UNANIMOUS DECISION

Andrews: Bad judging as Ham easily won two of the three rounds. Rawlings didn’t even finish strong. The volume of Ham’s striking and transitions into threatening submissions easily nullified the power shots of Rawlings. It’s sad to see that judging like this still exists.

JAMES TE HUNA VS STEVE BOSSE

UFC Fight Night 85

Opponents James Te Huna of New Zealand and Steve Bosse of Canada face off during the UFC Fight Night weigh-in at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on March 19, 2016 in Brisbane, Australia. (Photo by Josh Hedges/Zuffa LLC/Zuffa LLC via Getty Images)

WINNER: STEVE BOSSE VIA TKO R1 0:52

ANDREWS PREDICTION: JAMES TE HUNA VIA TKO

Andrews: Bosse placed a beautiful right hand stepping away that caught Te Huna – and everybody else – by surprise. Beautiful upset performance by Bosse. It just goes to show you that anything can happen in MMA.

DAN KELLY VS ANTONIO CARLOS JUNIOR

UFC Fight Night 85

Daniel Kelly of Australia and Antonio Carlos Junior of Brazil face off during the UFC Fight Night weigh-in at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on March 19, 2016 in Brisbane, Australia. (Photo by Josh Hedges/Zuffa LLC/Zuffa LLC via Getty Images)

WINNER: DANIEL KELLY VIA TKO R3 1:36

ANDREWS PREDICTION: ANTONIO CARLOS JUNIOR VIA UNANIMOUS DECISION

Andrews: ACJ seemed to be causing for a decision win when out of nowhere, a knee dazed him and Kelly pounced for the TKO win. Great win for Kelly.

JAKE MATTHEWS VS JOHNNY CASE

UFC Fight Night 85

Opponents Jake Matthews of Australia and Johnny Case face off during the UFC Fight Night weigh-in at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on March 19, 2016 in Brisbane, Australia. (Photo by Josh Hedges/Zuffa LLC/Zuffa LLC via Getty Images)

WINNER: JAKE MATTHEWS BY SUBMISSION R3 4:46

ANDREWS PREDICTION: JOHNNY CASE VIA UNANIMOUS DECISION

Andrews: Matthews despite only being 21-years-old, attacked the body to soften up Case and took advantage in the third round, locking up a rear naked choke. Case did pretty good too, but the body kicks wore him down. Great performance by Matthews.

#13 HECTOR LOMBARD VS #9 NEIL MAGNY (17-5-0)

UFC Fight Night 85

Opponents Hector Lombard of Cuba and Neil Magny face off during the UFC Fight Night weigh-in at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on March 19, 2016 in Brisbane, Australia. (Photo by Josh Hedges/Zuffa LLC/Zuffa LLC via Getty Images)

WINNER: NEIL MAGNY VIA TKO R3 0:46

ANDREWS PREDICTION: NEIL MAGNY VIA UNANIMOUS DECISION

Andrews: Magny made another amazing comeback after almost getting finished in the first round.  And then Lombard survived a similar beating in the second round. But finally the reach and strategy of Magny took over. Great performances by both fighters.
