But, there’s more.
On Team Claudia, Cory Hendricks moves in with the four girls, “taking one for the team.”
Let’s see what happens with that.
Hendricks gets his feet checked out by Dr. Sanders. He’s advised there’s no breaks in the bones, but to take it easy kicking with his left foot for at least a few days.
I like Claudia’s coaching style. She seems to consider her team family and gets straight to the point.
And she doesn’t back down when Jedrzejczyk tries to trash talk her in the hallway. This reminds me of Rampage and Rashad. If only their english was better. Perhaps it’s better this way.
I’m not here to play games. I’m not here to bully anybody. I’m here to work. I think she’s here to try and get into my mind, to try and fight me… – Claudia Gadelha
“They call me Boss in Poland.” – Joanna Jedrzejczyk
Joanna’s coaching style seems more intense. She expects you to go and you’d better pay attention and work or else…
In one segment see the tree Team Syndicate members, Khalil Rountree, Cory Hendricks and Jamie Moyle discussing the showdown. One of them has to go and although it’s business, someone is going to be disappointed.
Hendricks’ left foot affected his training. He can’t kick so they do other drills to compensate. He admits Khalil is better on the feet, but he can get it done on the ground. He will take whatever Khalil gives him.
Rountree said he was comfortable with the style of Hendricks. Joanna wants him to knock out Hendricks and keep the fight standing.
Helen Harper was sick so she had to sit on the sidelines. Rountree cheers her up and reminds her she’s on the show and keep a positive attitude.
Another verbal battle with Joanna and Claudia. Claudia seems to be getting under Joanna’s skin with her comebacks. The clue is when Joanna says, “Shut your mouth.” It’s her go-to defensive comeback when she feels stung.
Rountree and Hendricks both weigh in at 204. Light-heavyweight bout.
Harper has an episode where her hand was trembling and she said she almost passed out. Rountree helps her calm down. But now, we have the fight.
Dana White announces $100,000 USD of bonus money will be given out. Two performance bonuses of $25,000 USD each and two Fight- of-the-Season bonuses of $25,000 USD each.
CORY HENDRICKS VS KHALIL ROUNTREE
— The Ultimate Fighter (@UltimateFighter) April 28, 2016
Round One: They touch gloves. Hendricks kick with the right foot right away. Rountree returns a leg kick. Hendricks gets a takedown, but Rountree gets up quick before nay damage is done. Second Hendricks takedown is stuffed, Gadelha barks to Hendricks to change levels (takedown). Hendricks gets a second takedown and gets the back. He works the rear-naked choke and gets it! Great win for Hendricks. I liked Rountree’s performance too, but he had no answer when the fight went to the ground for an extended time.
Rountree gives a classy tribute to his teammate afterwards. I have a feeling we’ll see him again.
WINNER: CORY HENDRICKS VIA SUBMISSION R1
Team Gadelha gets control as a result of the fight and they choose:
