The Wiseman Report – Strawweights, bantamweights in spotlight at UFC Fight Night 87

We have bantamweights and strawweights fighting at Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 87.

#14-ranked bantamweight Germiane de Randamie (5-3-0) takes on Anna Elmose (3-0-0) in a Netherlands vs Denmark showdown. Then, Polish power Karolina Kowalkiewicz (8-0-0) takes on TUF alum Heather Jo Clark (7-4-0).

Clark has been training with Xtreme Couture and Miesha Tate to get ready. Can she use her grappling and striking to put a dent in The Iron Lady? Is she mentally prepared?

I like Karolina and Germaine in these matchups. Let’s see what happens. More thoughts later this week when we predict the main card.

April 28th marked the fourth anniversary of Invicta FC. It’s amazing when you look back at what the state of WMMA was when they first started and what it is today. You have to give much of the credit to president Shannon Knapp, who has championed the female fighters from humble beginnings.

Invicta today continues to be the best WMMA organization with many of its fighters in the UFC.

Way to go, Invicta. By the way, Invicta FC 17 takes place May 7th…

UFC straw weights Felice Herring (10-6-0) and Kailin Curran (4-2-0) lock up at UFC on FOX 20 July 23rd in Chicago.

At a quick glance, I think Herrig has the advantage, but I need to watch these two more for a more detailed opinion.

I think Ilima-Lei McFarlane has one of the most interesting fighter  Instagram accounts:

We talked to MacFarlane earlier this year.
