Mark Munoz named official ambassador for Philippines’ UFC Fight Night 97

Retired UFC middleweight Mark Munoz (14-6-0) will be in the Philippines for UFC Fight Night 97 as an official ambassador.

The 38-year-old former Filipino Wrecking Machine had a successful career in the octagon, defeating Luke Barnatt in May of 2015 in his last bout.

Munoz intends to use the the opportunity as part of his efforts to grow the sport, where legends such as Manny Pacquiao continue to capture the public’s imagination.

MMA Crossfire

Part of Munoz’s activities will include charity events, MMA clinics conferences and meet-and-greet autograph sessions, starting in August.

UFC Fight Night 97 takes place October 15th at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. No matches or ticket availability have been announced as of yet.

“It is a dream to come back to the country that gave me an unforgettable ending to my journey as a professional fighter,” Muñoz said to “As I return to promote UFC Fight Night Manilla, I also hope to share my passion, talent, and abilities to our young Filipino athletes. I look forward to helping my kababayans take their game to the next level. I hope to see more Filipinos make a name for themselves in the octagon in the future.”
