There was an entertaining atomweight battle at the ONE Championship’s Heroes of the World event at Macau, China.
Istela Nunes (5-0-0, 1NC) secured an upset split-decision win over former atomweight title challenger Mei Yamaguchi (15-10-1).

The ONE announcers thought Yamaguchi won with her takedowns and ground control, but the judges saw otherwise. Look at it again.

Yamaguchi lost another memorable fight to Angela Lee for the inaugural ONE atomweight belt, back in May.
As most MMA Crossfire readers read earlier last week…

TUF 20 alum Heather Jo Clark (7-5-0) and the undefeated Alexa Grasso (8-0-0) are set for The Ultimate Fighter Latin America 3 (TUFLA 3) in Mexico City, November 5th. Along with many others, I’m excited and curious to see how Grasso adapts to the octagon. She could be the next big strawweight star.
The female fighters at UFC 202 are almost set. Randa Markos (6-3-0) takes on Cortney Casey (5-3-0), while Raquel Pennington (7-5-0) and Elizabeth Phillips (5-3-0) square off in the bantamweight division. More on these fighters later in the week. UFC 202 predictions, of course!
Two-time Olympic gold medalist judoka Kayla Harrison talked to the media after her big win. She all but torpedoed a possible transition to mixed martial arts.
Harrison defeated Audrey Tcheumeo of France in the 78kg division at Rio 2016 for her second consecutive gold medal. Tcheumeo tapped out to an armbar with just six seconds left on the clock.
Tcheumeo took the silver medal, while Brazil’s Mayra Aguiar collected the bronze.
