We all saw Paige VanZant (7-2-0) and her incredible switch kick that put away Bec Rawlings at UFC on FOX 21. It earned her a $50,000 USD performance bonus.

What can she do for an encore?

Tech Torres (7-1-0) may hold  the answer to that question.

The Tiny Tornado issued the first salvo, challenging VanZant on the UFC’s New York card.

Torres owns a unanimous decision victory over PVZ back at Invicta FC 4 in 2013. VanZant has not yet formally responded to the Torres’ challenge.

It would be a good rematch, with Torres’ speed and precision and PVZ’s creativity and heart. Let’s see what happens with this.

UFC Hamburg is around the corner. There is one bantamweight matchup on the card. No. 13 Ashlee Evans-Smith (4-1-0) takes on Veronica Macedo (5-0-0), who making her UFC debut on short notice.

Evans-Smith will obviously have the advantage.  At first glance, my instincts tell me Ashlee should get the win.

Bantamweight Valentina Shevchenko (13-2-0) recently signed a seven-fight extension with the UFC, according to MMA Fighting. She’s coming off a good win over Holly Holm and probably needs another one to stay in the conversation for a title shot.

Mexican rising star Irene Aldana (6-2-0) will face New Zealand’s Faith Van Duin (6-2-0) at September 23rd’s Invicta FC 19.

Van Duin lost to Cris Cyborg at Invicta FC 13, but is coming off a win over Charlene Watt at Brace 41 in June. The experience of getting in the cage with Justino should help Van Duin, but Aldana will likely have other plans.

Aldana is coming off an impressive stoppage of Jessamyn Duke at Invicta FC 16 and like her colleague Alexa Grasso, is being eyed by the UFC.

Put those guns away before you hurt someone else, Angela.
