The Wiseman Report – Vieira split-decisions Faszholz at UFC Portland

Ketlen Vieira (7-0-0) won her UFC debut bout at UFC Portland, defeating Kelly Faszholz (3-2-0) by split-decision in the event’s opening fight.

The bout wasn’t exactly a barnburner, but the Brazilian used her ground game to withstand a comeback from Faszholz and remain undefeated.

There are no WMMA fights at UFC 204 Saturday,  so it’s a bit of a light report this week, but there’s some WMMA activity on the radar.

Starting with an interesting project called “Seeing is Believing: Women Direct,” a documentary focusing on rising female directors in the film industry.

It’s being put together by actor and director Cady McClain, via a fundraising IndieGoGo campaign. Targeting a $50,000 USD budget, 55 percent has been raised so far with two months to go.

Success always, ladies! Bring the documentary to TIFF!

Usually, the problem is finding quality opponents for Cris Cyborg, but this time …

At Poland’s KSW 36 on Oct. 1, Diana Belbita decisioned Katarzyna Lubonska, while Ariane Lipski stopped Sheila Gaff at 2:09 in the first round.
