Toronto’s UFC 206 card has two new interesting matchups.
Former lightweight champion and No.6 featherweight Anthony Pettis (19-5-0) will battle streaking No.3 Max Holloway (16-3-0), while Canadian bantamweight Mitch Gagnon (12-3-0) will take on American Matthew Lopez (8-1-0).
The matchups were announced yesterday.
Welcome back to The Crossfire.
Pettis made a successful transition to the featherweight division with a debut win over Charles Oliveira at UFC on FOX 21. Holloway is on a nine-fight win streak with six stoppages. He decisioned Ricardo Lamas at UFC 199 in his last fight.
Gagnon hasn’t fought since his loss to Renan Barao at UFC Fight Night 58 in 2014. He was recovering a torn ACL suffered during that fight.
Lopez is trying to bounce back from a dominant loss to Rani Yahya at UFC Fight Night 91.
UFC 206 takes place at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre Dec. 10.
