As Felice Herrig (12-6-0) talked about in herĀ UFC Fight Night 104 post-fight press conference, sometimes you need to take time for yourself.

The veteran strawweight upset the sensational rookie Alexa Grasso (9-1-0) by unanimous decision in Houston, and while the stats didn’t necessarily show it, she outstruck the striker in many pivotal moments in the bout.

Herrig is almost certain to break into the top-15 rankings with the win. Now that her mental state is where it needs to be, she mentioned she would like to fight No.7 Michelle Waterson (14-4-0), a former reality show colleague.

Ideally, she would like to fight twice a year, given her 14 years strong in combat sports, but acknowledged when a big fight comes, you need to be ready.

A win over Waterson would propel Herrig closer to a title shot. Can the 32-year-oldĀ make the big push? Let’s see what happens.

Jessica Andrade won as expected over a much improved Angela Hill, which turned out to be the Fight of the Night. Hill’s takedown defence and toughness was on display and despite the loss, she showed she belongs in the division.

According to Dana White, Andrade is next in line for a shot at Joanna Jedrzejczyk’s strawweight belt. Andrade’s aggressiveness and grappling could pose problems for JJ.

Almost lost in the shuffle was Tecia Torres comfortable decision win over Bec Rawlings.

It was another “Tiny Tornado” performance, but the crowd seemed to get under Rawling’s skin during the fight.
