UFC Fight Night 105 takes place tonight in my home country of Canada, but down east in Halifax, Nova Scotia. There are an interesting pair of female matchups on the card.
MMA Crossfire Vault – The Andrews Report
Olympic silver medalist and streaking bantamweight No.7 Sara McMann (10-3-0) will welcome TUF 18 alum Gina Mazany (4-0-0) – who is fighting 16 days short notice for the injured Liz Carmouche and missed weight – to the octagon.
Can Gina pull off the upset? Check out this interview.

McMann, currently riding a two-fight win streak, will have other ideas tonight.
In a TUF 20 grudge match, Windsor’s Randa Markos (6-4-0) takes on the first UFC strawweight champ Carlos Esparza (11-3-0). Readers keeping score may remember the heat generated when Markos fought – and submitted – Esparza’s friend Felice Herrig on the show. I’m expecting some sparks to fly in that one and while I like Markos personally – I interviewed her a few years ago – she has struggled in her recent bouts and have to go with “The Cookie Monster,” who has overcome some struggles of her own.

Meanwhile, at Bellator 172 last night we saw this.

Veta Arteaga landed a straight right exchange that put Brooke Mayo down for the count late in the third round, with some dispute from Mayo despite the hematoma.

Invicta FC featherweight Cindy Dandois is going to make an announcement soon. Hmm, I wonder what it might be …
A salute to Valerie Letourneau, who announced she is no longer with the UFC.
Letourneau will be remembered for her competitive fight with Joanna Jedrzejczyk at Australia’s UFC 193. She had lost her last three fights however, and was on the UFC bubble. Letoruneau left some room in her Instagram post for a return to the octagon, so let’s see what happens.
