The UFC announced today that for the first time, No.7 Mark Hunt (12-11-1, 1NC) will headline in his hometown of Auckland, New Zealand at UFC Fight Night 110 June 11.

“The Super Samoan” will take on No. 6 American Derrick Lewis (18-4-0, 1NC) in the main event at the Vector Arena. He is winless in his last two bouts, and will be looking to return to the win column in front of his home crowd.

Lewis defeated Travis Browne at UFC Fight Night 105 in February, part of a six-fight win streak.

In other bouts, flyweights Joseph Benavidez (25-4-0) will carry a six-fight win streak into the octagon against Australia’s Ben Nguyen (16-6-0), while No.11 John Moraga (16-6-0) welcomes local prospect Ashkan Mokhtarian (13-1-0) to the octagon.

Middleweight Daniel Kelly (12-1-0), who recently upset Rashad Evans at UFC 209, will take on Derek Brunson (16-5-0)

“We have seen tremendous growth and interest in UFC across New Zealand since our first live event in 2014,” UFC senior vice president, head of international and content, Joe Carr said in a press release. “Coming back to Auckland, especially with Mark Hunt to compete in his home town for the first time in 16 years, is definitely something our fans should be excited about.”

Tickets go on sale to the general public Wednesday, April 12.
