The Andrews Report – Cynthia Calvillo and Pearl Gonzalez ready to excite on UFC 210 main card
It’s not every day that a UFC pay-per-view features a main card with two female strawweights with exactly one bout of company experience.
Buffalo’s UFC 210 however, will feature exactly that. Team Alpha Male’s Cynthia Calvillo (4-0-0) will look to build on her debut win over Amanda Bobby Cooper at UFC 209, this Saturday by welcoming 10th Planet’s Pearl Gonzalez (6-1-0) to the octagon.
Can the 29-year-old Calvillo overpower the 30-year-old Gonzalez like she did to Cooper? It will be interesting to see who can enforce their games.

Last S&C session for this fight!! What an amazing 31/2 month camp we have had!! I am stronger, faster and leaner than ever before. Truly blessed to be coached by the best!!! Check out this interview with Gonzalez.
I am fired up for this fight. Best of luck to both ladies. Who will win? You have to check my UFC 210 predictions later this week as my thoughts are not complete on the matchup yet.
There is also another female fight on the UFC Fight Pass prelims.
Mexico’s Irene Aldana (7-3-0) is seeking her first win in the octagon as she faces Katlyn Chookagian (8-1-0). Many fans remember Aldana’s debut loss to Leslie Smith at UFC on FOX 22. Aldana will need to step up her game to match the competition and I think we will see improvements in her confidence and aggressiveness.
Chookagian lost her last fight via split-decision to Liz Carmouche at UFC 205, so we know she is itching to return to the win column. If she can do to Aldana what she did in the third round of that fight, we will have a barnburner.

When it comes to bar tricks, look no further than the “Karate Hottie …”
Don’t be fooled by her record. Gonzales-Hills has fought a lot of tough competition, including current atomweight champion Angela Lee. She told me she is determined to showcase her improvements and is training at Jackson-Winks MMA Academy in Albuquerque to set things straight. Be on the lookout for the full conversation that will drop during ONE Fight Week.
See you next week!
