The UFC announced Nov. 21 that bantamweight John Lineker (30-8-0) has stepped in to replace the injured Dominick Cruz at UFC 219 in Las Vegas.

Lineker, 27, who is coming off a decision win over Marlon Vera at UFC Fight Night 119 in October, will face Jimmie Rivera (21-1-0).

Rivera is on a 20 fight win streak, decisioning Thomas Almeida in his last bout at UFC on FOX 25 in July. It’s clear from his Twitter account that he is still looking to fight champion TJ Dillashaw down the line.

UFC 219 is scheduled for Dec. 30 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The current card includes:

Khabib Nurmagomedov (24-0-0) vs. Edson Barboza (19-4-0)

Kamaru Usman (11-1-0) vs. Emil Weber Meek (9-2-1)

Cynthia Calvillo (6-0-0) vs. Carla Esparza (12-4-0)

Cristiane Justino (18-1-0, 1NC) vs. Holly Holm (11-3-0)

Myles Jury (16-2-0) vs. Rick Glenn (20-4-1)

Jimmie Rivera (21-1-0) vs. John Lineker (30-8-0)

Carlos Condit (30-10-0) vs. Neil Magny (18-6-0)

Louis Smolka (11-4-0) vs. Matthew Nicolau (12-1-1)

Gokhan Saki (1-1-0) vs. Khalil Rountree (6-2-0)
