UFC Fight Night 122: Bisping vs. Gastelum predictions

The UFC is in mainland China for the first time as former middleweight champion Michael Bisping (30-8-0) steps back into the fire against Kelvin Gastelum (13-3-0) in the main event.

Kenai Andrews checks in with his thoughts on the main card.

UFC Shanghai

Andrews: Salikhov is a good striker and is making his octagon debut against a guy trying to bounce back from a loss. Garcia has knockout power and can go to the ground if need be, plus he has Tristar wrestling in his back pocket. I have to go with Garcia to figure out where to take the fight to get the win.

Andrews Prediction: Alex Garcia via UD

WANG GUAN (16-1-1) VS. ALEX CACERES (13-10-0, 1NC)

UFC Shanghai

Andrews: Guan is making his octagon debut and I was impressed with him at the weigh-ins. I think he will overcome the octagon jitters and do well, but I cannot overlook the massive experience advantage Caceres has.

Andrews Prediction: Alex Caceres via UD

LI JINGLIANG (13-4-0) VS. ZAK OTTOW (15-4-0)

UFC Shanghai

Andrews: Jingliang should take this one with the help of the hometown crowd.

Andrews Prediction: Li Jingliang via UD

#2 MICHAEL BISPING (30-8-0) VS. #9 KELVIN GASTELUM (14-3-0, 1NC)

UFC Shanghai

Andrews: Bisping will have the height and reach advantage but as Gastelum showed against Chris Weidman, he can get inside and has the power to put almost anyone away. Bisping’s boxing is pretty good, and he will try to use Weidman’s playbook if the standup aren’t working, but Gastelum should be prepared to catch him.

Andrews Prediction: Kelvin Gastelum via TKO
