Brian Ortega (13-0-0) submitted Cub Swanson (25-8-0) in the second round to emerge the victor in the main event at UFC Fight Night 123 in Fresno, California Saturday evening.

Swanson successfully kept the fight on the feet for most of the first round, but was caught late with a choke by Ortega that almost put him away.

The second round seemed to energize Swanson’s boxing until Ortega went for a takedown that turned into a clinch. After a scramble, Ortega locked in a standing guillotine, switching to full guard and cranking the pressure, forcing Swanson to tap at 3:22.

With the win, Ortega increased his undefeated streak to 13 fights. Swanson fell to 25-8-0.
