The UFC announced today that UFC 222 will feature a featherweight title defence between champion Max Holloway (19-3-0) and former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar (22-5-1).

Edgar, 36, was scheduled to compete at UFC 218 but suffered an injury and was replaced by former champion Jose Aldo.

Holloway, 26, has one official title defence under his belt and is on record as wanting to meet and exceed Aldo’s run as champion.

UFC 222 is scheduled for Mar. 3 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Current bouts include:

Max Holloway (19-3-0) vs. Frankie Edgar (22-5-1)

Hector Lombard (34-8-1) vs. C.B. Holloway (16-8-1)

Cat Zingano (9-2-0) vs. Ketlen Viera (9-0-0)

Sean O’Malley (9-0-0) vs. Andre Soukhamthath (12-5-0)

Mackenzie Dern (5-0-0) vs. Ashley Yoder (5-3-0)

Hector Lobard (34-8-1, 2NC) vs. C.B. Dolloway (16-8-1)

More bouts are expected to be announced.
