Invicta FC returns to the familiar confines of the Scottish Rite Temple in Kansas City as former Strikeforce bantamweight champion Sarah Kaufman meets Swedish star Pannie Kianzad in the main event of Invicta FC 27.
Kenai Andrews checks in with his thoughts on the main card.
JADE RIPLEY (0-0-0) VS. HELEN PERALTA (0-0-0)
Andrews: Tough bout to call as both fighters are making their professional debuts. I have to go with “The Asian Sensation.”
Andrews Prediction: Jade Ripley via UD
KONKLAK SUPHISARA (0-0-0) VS. MELISSA WANG (1-0-0)
Andrews: Tough bout to call as they have a combined one bout of pro experience. I’m going to go with “Lil Dynamite.”
Andrews Prediction: Melissa Wang via TKO
MALLORY MARTIN (1-2-0) VS. TIFFANY MASTERS (2-1-0)
Andrews: Masters missed weight and is making her debut so I am going with Martin.
Andrews Prediction: Mallory Martin via TKO
FELICIA SPENCER (3-0-0) VS. AKEELA AL-HAMEED (0-0-0)
Andrews: Spencer is in a Invicta groove and should be able to welcome AL-Hameed to the cage successfully.
Andrews Prediction: Felicia Spencer via UD
CHERI MURASKI (4-0-0) VS. BROGAN SANCHEZ (4-0-0)
Andrews: In case you did not notice, there a lot of rookies on this card. And Muraski has a single Invicta bout under her belt. That could be enough to get the win though.
Andrews Prediction: Cheri Muraski via UD
ASHLEY CUMMINS (5-4-0) VS. STEPHANIE ALBA (3-1-0)
Andrews: Alba is from Combate Americas and is making her Invicta debut. She is a tough vet but Cummins should be able to use her experience advantage to take a comfortable decision.
Andrews Prediction: Ashley Cummins via UD
SHARON JACOBSON (4-2-0) VS. ASHLEY NICOLS (3-1-0)
Andrews: Nichols is making her Invicta debut. “The Dreamcatcher” looked good in her last two bouts despite the submission loss in her last one.
Andrews Prediction: Sharon Jacobson via UD
VANESSA PORTO (19-8-0) VS. MARIANA MORAIS (12-5-0)
Andrews: Porto has a huge experience advantage here. Both like to go to the floor, but I have to go with Porto to get the tap.
Andrews Prediction: Vanessa Porto via submission
SARAH KAUFMAN (18-4-0) VS. PANNIE KIANZAD (8-2-0)
Andrews: Kaufman has faced much stiffer competition than Kianzad and as long as she doesn’t understimate Pannie – who missed weight again – should be able to overcome and take the decision win.
Andrews Prediction: Sarah Kaufman via UD
