UFC Fight Night 128: Three bouts added, including Eubanks vs. Murphy

Utica’s UFC Fight Night 128 in June was bolstered yesterday with the addition of three fights, including a key women’s flyweight matchup.

Sijara Eubanks (2-2-0), who was supposed to fight in the finals of TUF 26, but dropped out with weight cut issues, will return to take on veteran Lauren Murphy (10-3-0), who defeated Barb Honchak at the TUF 26 Finale in December 2017. Eubanks, 32, hasn’t fought officially since January 2017, when she lost a decision to Aspen Ladd at Invicta FC 21.

Heavyweights Walt Harris (10-7-0) and Daniel Spitz (6-1-0) will collide. Harris, 34, will try to snap a two-fight losing streak, including an illegal head-kick disqualification in his last bout against Mark Godbeer. Previously, “The Big Ticket,” 34, tried to step in on short notice against former champion Fabricio Werdum at UFC 216 in October 2017 but was submitted in 65 seconds.

Spitz, 27, who also lost to Godbeer previously, secured a TKO win over Anthony Hamilton at UFC Fight Night 116 in September 2017.

Flyweight Hector “Kid Alex” Sandoval (14-4-0), 31, will try to overcome Jarrod “The Monkey God” Brooks (13-1-0). He lost his last bout to Dustin Ortiz at UFC Fight Night 114 in August 2017.

Brooks, 24, had his record blemished for the first time in his last fight via split-decision to Deiveson Figueredo at UFC Fight Night 119 in October 2017.

UFC Fight Night 128 is scheduled for June 1 at the Adirondack Bank Center in Utica, New York. The main card will be live streamed on UFC Fight Pass. Current bouts include:

Marlon Moraes (20-5-1) vs. Jimmie Rivera (21-1-0)

Walt Harris (10-7-0) vs. Daniel Spitz (6-1-0)

Jarrod Brooks (13-1-0) vs. Hector Sandoval (14-4-0)

Sijara Eubanks (2-2-0) vs. Lauren Murphy (10-3-0)

More bouts are expected to be announced.
