The UFC is in London, England this weekend for UFC Fight Night 127. In the main event, No. 3 Fabricio Werdum (23-7-1) takes on rising heavyweight No. 8 Alexander Volkov (29-6-0). The co-main event features former BAMMA light heavyweight product No. 4 Jimi Manuwa (17-3-0) welcoming No. 11 Jan Blachowicz (21-7-0) in a rematch.
Kenai Andrews checks in with his thoughts on the main card.
MAIN CARD (5PM ET/2PM PT)
LEON EDWARDS (14-3-0) VS. PETER SOBOTTA (17-5-1)
Andrews: Sobotta is a tough cookie, so Edwards will need to be careful of his power. With careful footwork, Edwards will score enough points to take the decision and avoid most of the power shots of his Polish opponent.
Andrews Prediction: Leon Edwards via UD
TOM DUQUESNOY (15-2-0, 1NC) VS. TERRION WARE (17-6-0)
Andrews: Ware is on the bubble having lost his last two fights. But I think Dquesnoy has more skills and should be able to get the decision.
Andrews Prediction: Tom Duquesnoy via UD
#4 JIMI MANUWA (17-3-0) VS. #11 JAN BLACHOWICZ (21-7-0)
Andrews: Jimi won the first bout and because he got flattened in his last fight will be looking to make a statement in front of his home crowd. I have to go with the striking of Manuwa.
Andrews Prediction: Jimi Manuwa via TKO
#3 FABRICIO WERDUM (23-7-1) VS. #8 ALEXANDER VOLKOV (29-6-0)
Andrews: Volkov has beaten some good fighters in the UFC, but Werdum will be the best the he’s ever faced. His ground game is still suspect and if he can’t connect on the feet, he’ll be in trouble for five rounds. Werdum is a wiley veteran and will be looking to take his bigger opponent to the ground for the tap.
Andrews Prediction: Fabricio Werdum via submission
