UFC president Dana White took to Twitter to announced today that interim featherweight champion Tony Ferguson (23-3-0) injured his knee and will be replaced by featherweight champion Max Holloway (19-3-0) to take on undefeated 29-year-old Russian Khabib Nurmagomedov (25-0-0) for the lightweight belt at UFC 223.

Ferguson’s injury marks the fourth time the fight between the two has been scrapped. Nurmagomedov, who defeated Edson Barboza at UFC 219 in his last fight, took the opportunity to remind everyone of that in an Instagram response.

Holloway, 26, comes in with a 12 fight win streak, including back-to-back wins over former champion Jose Aldo. He will be moving up to 155 pounds to challenge Nurmagomedov.
