James Gallagher silenced at Bellator 204 but unapologetically vocal about his future

The hype train of Irish sensation and Conor McGregor teammate James Gallagher (7-1-0) was derailed by American Ricky Bandejas (11-1-0) at Bellator 204 Friday evening at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

After mounting some early offence to keep Bandejas on the defensive, the 26-year-old American landed a right hand to Gallagher’s jaw minutes into the first round that Gallagher couldn’t recover from.

More strikes followed by a kick sent Gallagher crashing to the canvas, where follow-up strikes forced referee Bobby Wombcher to halt the contest at 2:49 of the first frame.

The internet continues to buzz about Bandejas’ performance.

But Gallagher’s post-fight response was perhaps even more interesting.

It’s clear that one TKO loss is not going to derail  the 21-year-old “StrabAnimal’s” mission for cage glory.
