UFC 232: Champions Cris Cyborg and Amanda Nunes collide

Winner will be the first female UFC dual champion

December’s UFC 232 will feature two UFC champions Cris Cyborg (20-1-0) and Amanda Nunes (16-4-0) meeting in a historic bout to determine the company’s first female dual titleholder.

The fight will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. President Dana White revealed the fight to ESPN.com.

Cyborg, 33, is unbeaten in 21 fights, dating back to November 2005. Her last bout was a TKO win over Invicta FC bantamweight champion Yana Kunitskaya at UFC 222 in March.   She is considered the best female fighter on the planet.

“The Lioness,” 30, defended the bantamweight crown for the third time in May. She hasn’t lost a bout since September 2014, a run of seven fights. She has beaten former champions Miesha Tate and Ronda Rousey in a combined time of less than one round and is looking to add Cyborg to the list.

Nunes recently announced her engagement to longtime girlfriend, strawweight Nina Ansaroff.

UFC 232 is scheduled for Dec. 29 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

More bouts are expected to be announced.
