The UFC confirmed that middleweight champion Robert Whittaker (20-4-0) will defend his crown against fellow TUF 28 coaching alum Kelvin Gastelum (15-3-0, 1NC) in the main event of Melbourne’s UFC 234.
This will be Whittaker’s first official title defence since split-decisioning a Yoel Romero who missed weight at UFC 225 in June. Nonetheless, the 27 year old is enjoying a nine fight win streak and will be fighting close to his home country of New Zealand.
