Invicta FC 32: Felicia Spencer chokes out Pam Sorenson to win featherweight crown

Canadian captures vacant featherweight belt

Canadian featherweight Felicia Spencer (6-0-0) used her clinch and ground game to wear down Pam Sorenson (7-3-0) en route to a fourth round submission win in the main of Shawnee’s Invicta FC 32 last night.

Sorenson tried to keep the fight standing throughout but though she scored some strikes in the clinch, a guillotine attempt and some top position on the ground, was on the defensive for the majority of the bout.

The end came late in the fourth round, where Spencer softened up Sorenson with some strikes, worked for a takedown, took the back and locked in a rear-naked choke that forced Sorenson to tap at 4:23.

With the win, Spencer captured the featherweight belt that was rendered vacant when previous champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino left for the UFC.
