After UFC 232, Dana White says Amanda Nunes is “the best ever”

And former champ Miesha Tate seems to agree

After stunning Cris Cyborg at UFC 232 in less than a minute, UFC president Dana White said afterwards that UFC bantamweight and featherweight champion Amanda Nunes is the best female fighter ever in mixed martial arts.

White was asked the question in the post fight press conference and there was no hesitation in his answer.

“She’s the best ever, how can you deny it?” he responded to Yahoo! reporter Kevin Iole. “You can’t deny that she’s the best ever. That’s what this fight was for, this fight was to find out. But if you look at her resume and who she’s beat? She’s the best ever. Nobody can dispute it. You can try to, you can say some stupid shit. But, she’s the best ever.”

After losing a winnable contest to Cat Zingano at UFC 178 in 2014, the 30-year-old “Lioness” has gone on to rattle off eight straight wins, including former champions Miesha Tate and UFC Hall of Famer Ronda Rousey, plus current flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. “That fight had to happen,” she said.

A win over another former champion, Holly Holm,  who has not fought Nunes  – yet – would probably cement any lingering debate.

For now, the consensus among fans and critics seem to converge on one conclusion: “The Lioness” reigns supreme.
