Brazilian No.12 women’s bantamweight Bethe Correia (10-3-1) confirmed on her Twitter account that she is returning from a 23 month layoff to fight Mexican No. 10 Irene Aldana (9-4-0) at Brazil’s UFC 237 in May.
Correia’s last fight was a TKO loss to former bantamweight champion Holly Holm at UFC Fight Night 111 in June 2017. She has been recovering from injuries since then, so it will be interesting to see if she can return to her former level at 35 years of age.

Meanwhile, the prospect label on Aldana, 30, has lost some shine since her days in Invicta FC. She is 2-2-0 in the octagon and has not registered a finish yet, but with decision victories over Talita Bernardo and Lucie Pudilova, perhaps she is finding her way back.
