The bout was originally supposed to take place at UFC 230 last November, but Romero had to pull out. It was then moved to UFC on ESPN+ 8 in April, but USADA slapped a six month suspension on Costa for unauthorized IV injections of saline solution and stomach medication. That suspension ended Feb. 10.
Costa, 28, brings an impressive 100 per cent finish rate to the bout, including second round TKO finishes of Uriah Hall, Johny Hendricks and Oluwale Bamgbose in his last three contests.
Yoel Romero vsPaulo Costa has been verbally agreed to for UFC 241 on Aug. 17 in Anaheim, according to sources. “Yoel Romero needs to understand this is personal,” Costa told ESPN. “He’s a liar. He’s a Soldier of God?He’s a soldier of devil for his lies. 🇧🇷 pic.twitter.com/wtSMQXhDrs

Meanwhile, Romero, 42, is older but still freakishly athletic. He does have two losses in his last three fights, albeit to the champion Robert Whittaker.
