UFC 240: Max Holloway defends against Frankie Edgar

Can "The Answer" finally cash in at featherweight?

The UFC confirmed Tuesday that featherweight champion Max Holloway (20-4-0) will defend against former lightweight champion No. 4 Frankie Edgar (23-6-1) at Edmonton’s UFC 240 show in July.

“Blessed,” 27, recently challenged Dustin Poirier for the lightweight crown at UFC 236 in April but was finished, snapping a 13 fight win streak. Still, Holloway hasn’t lost at featherweight in almost six years.

Edgar, 37, decisioned Cub Swanson at UFC Fight Night 128 in April 2018 after originally losing his featherweight title shot when he lost to Brian Ortega at UFC 222 in March 2018.

UFC 240 is scheduled for July 27 at the Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

More bouts are expected to be announced.
