UFC on ESPN+ 13: Cynthia Calvillo takes on Livinha Souza

Can "The Brazilian Gangster" leapfrog into the strawweight rankings?

The UFC confirmed on Tuesday that strawweights No. 11 Cynthia Calvillo (8-1-0) and Livinha Souza (13-1-0) will meet at Sacramento’s UFC on ESPN 13 in July.

The bout is part of seven fights that were announced on Tuesday.

Calvillo, 31, is making a quick turnaround after decisioning Cortney Casey at UFC on ESPN 1 in February. She also submitted Poliana Botelho at UFC Fight Night 140 in November 2018. But check out this Twitter exchange with Tecia Torres.

Souza, 28, is the former Invicta FC strawweight champion. Her two octagon bouts have been victories and is on a four fight win streak but Calvillo is her toughest opponent yet, at least on paper.

UFC on ESPN+ 13 is scheduled for July 13 at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California. Current bouts include:

Ryan Hall (7-1-0) vs. Darren Elkins (24-7-0)

Cynthia Calvillo (8-1-0) vs. Livinha Souza (13-1-0)

Nicco Montano (4-2-0) vs. Sara McMann (11-5-0)

Karl Roberson (7-2-0) vs. John Phillips (21-9-0)

Benito Lopez (9-1-0) vs. Martin Day (9-3-0)

Beneil Dariush (16-4-1) vs. Drakkar Klose (10-1-1)

Marvin Vettori (12-3-1) vs. Cezar Frreira (13-7-0)

More bouts are expected to be announced.
