Yushin Okami returns against undefeated James Nakashima at ONE: Dawn of Heroes

Can Okami return to form in Manila?

Former UFC Japanese contender and now recent ONE Championship athlete Yushin Okami (35-13-0) will face the streaking American James Nakashima (11-0-0) in a welterweight contest at Manila’s ONE: Dawn of Heroes in August.

Okami, 37, will attempt to return to the win column after suffering a TKO loss in his debut bout to Kiamrian Abbasov at ONE: For Honor in May. He is winless in his last two contests.

Meanwhile, Nakashima, 30, is unbeaten in two fights in the ONE cage. His last bout was a TKO win when his opponent Luis Santos retired due to injury after a takedown at ONE: Roots of Honor in April.

The welterweight weight limit is 185 pounds in ONE Championship, equivalent to the middleweight weight limit in the UFC.

ONE: Dawn of Heroes is scheduled for August 2 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines. The card is:

The card also features former UFC flyweight champion Demetrius Johnson, who is taking on Tatsumitsu Wada in the World Grand Prix flyweight semi-final, while former UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez will attempt to collect his first ONE victory with against Eduard Folayang.
