UFC on ESPN+ 14: Polyana Viana replaces Rachael Ostovich

The UFC confirmed on Monday that women’s flyweight Polyana Viana (10-3-0) has replaced Rachael Ostovich (4-5-0) and will take on Veronica Macedo (5-3-1) at Montevideo’s UFC on ESPN+ 14 card in August.

Ostovich now joins lightweight Rafael Fiziev (replaced by Rodrigo Vargas vs. Alex de Silva) and welterweight Laureno Staropoli (replaced by Gilbert Burns against Aleksei Kunchenko) on the injury list pulled from the card.

Viana, 27, is coming off back-to back decision losses but the Brazilian made headlines previously for neutralizing an attacker trying to rob her in Rio de Janiero.

Macedo, 23, is also trying to snap a three fight losing skid. Both fighters need a win to keep moving forward in the division.

UFC on ESPN+ 14 is scheduled for August 10 at the Antel Arena in Montevideo, Uruguay. The current lineup is:

Valentina Shevchenko (17-3-0) vs. Liz Carmouche (13-6-0)

Polyana Viana (10-3-0) vs. Veronica Macedo (5-3-1)

Vicente Luque (16-6-1) vs. Mike Perry (13-4-0)
