UFC 244: Nate Diaz vs. Jorge Masvidal slated for main event

Tough-talking welterweight sluggers Nate Diaz (20-11-0) and Jorge Masvidal (34-13-0) will headline Madison Square Garden’s UFC 244 event in November, according to a tweet from ESPN reporter Brett Okamato.

Diaz talked up the contest on social media after Masvidal’s record-breaking five second TKO victory over Ben Askren at UFC 239 in July. He is coming off an impressive win of his own, a TKO win over Anthony Pettis at UFC 241 in August.

UFC 244 is scheduled for Nov. 2 at the Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York. Confirmed bouts include:

Nate Diaz (20-11-0) vs. Jorge Masvidal (34-13-0)

Kelvin Gastelum (15-4-0, 1NC) vs. Darren Till (17-2-1)

Derrick Lewis (21-7-0, 1NC) vs. Blagoy Ivanov (18-2-0)

Lyman Good (20-5-0, 1NC) vs. Chance Recountre (14-3-0)

Katlyn Chookagian (12-2-0) vs. Jennifer Maia (17-5-1)

Corey Anderson (12-4-0) vs. Johnny Walker (17-3-0)

Krzystzof Jotko (21-4-0) vs. Edmen Shahbazyan (10-0-0)

More bouts are expected to be announced.
