UFC on ESPN+ 18: Floyd Mayweather protege Makhmud Muradov steps in for injured Peter Sabotta

Retired former boxing world champion Floyd Mayweather now has boots on the ground in the UFC via his newly signed Uzbekistan middleweight Makhmud Muradov (22-6-0).

The 29 year-old Muradov is the company’s first Uzbekistan fighter and is represented by Mayweather Promotions. He will debut at Copenhagen’s UFC on ESPN+ 18 event, filling in for injured Peter Sabotta against Italian Alessia Di Chirico (12-3-0). His last bout was a TKO win in Oktagon MMA in July over Wendall de Oliveira Marques.

Meanwhile, Di Chirico, 29, lost a decision to Kevin Holland in his last bout at UFC on ESPN+ 12 in June. He is 3-3-0 in the UFC since debuting in 2016.

UFC on ESPN+ 18 is scheduled for Sept. 28 at the Royal Area I Copenhagen Denmark. Scheduled bouts include:
