The spotlight now moves to Moscow as featherweights No. 5 Zabit Magomedsharipov (17-1-0) and No. 11 Calvin Kattar (20-3-0) prepare to throw down in the main event of UFC on ESPN+ 21.
Kenai Andrews checks in with his thoughts on the main event.
SHAMIL GAMZATOV (13-0-0) VS. KLIDSON ABREU (15-3-0)
Andrews: Abreu likes to go to the ground but so can Shamil, plus he can knock you out too. And, he has the wrestling to shut down BJJ. In front of his home fans, no less.
Andrews Prediction: Shamil Gamzatov via TKO
RAMAZAN EMEEV (18-3-0) VS. ROCCO MARTIN (16-4-0)
Andrews: I like the ATT training that Emeev has. He should be able to stifle Martin’s takedown attempts and dictate the fight to get the decision.
Andrews Prediction: Ramazan Emeev via UD
KHADIS IBRAGIMOV (8-1-0) VS. ED HERMAN (25-14-0, 1NC)
Andrews: Herman, at 39, has been in the UFC since TUF 3! Khadis seems well rounded but knowing Herman is susceptible on the ground, may go for the tap.
Andrews Prediction: Khadis Ibragimov via submission
ZELIM IMADAEV (8-1-0) VS. DANNY ROBERTS (16-4-0)
Andrews: Both fighters need a win, but Roberts has the disadvantage of being the visitor. I like the skills of Roberts, but I think Imadaev grinds out the win.
Andrews Prediction: Zelim Amadaev via UD
#7 ALEXANDER VOLKOV (30-7-0) VS. GREG HARDY (5-1-0, 1NC)
Andrews: Hardy needs one shot, but can he land it against the technical Volkov? Volkov is still smarting from the Derrick Lewis loss and I think he rebounds this time.
Andrews Prediction: Alexander Volkov via UD
#5 ZABIT MAGOMEDSHARIPOV (17-1-0) VS. #11 CALVIN KATTAR (20-3-0)
Andrews: The skills of Zabit overcomes the grit of Kattar.
Andrews Prediction: Zabit Magomedsharipov via UD
