Floyd Mayweather says he’s coming out of retirement in 2020
Undefeated former WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather (50-0-0, 27 KOs) used Instagram yesterday to declare he’s returning to the squared circle in 2020.
Mayweather also confirmed he will be working with UFC president Dana White “to bring the world another spectacular event in 2020.” The two moguls were recently seen courtside at a Boston Celtics vs. Los Angeles Clippers game on Wednesday.
August 2017 was the year of Mayweather’s last bout, a 10th round TKO victory over UFC champion Conor McGregor that White helped put together and promote.
Just over a year ago, Mayweather participated in a three round boxing exhibition, defeating kickboxer Tension Nasukawa at Rizin 14 in Japan.
White has been working on Zuffa Boxing and a Mayweather bout could be the big ticket fight to launch with.
