Invicta FC 39: Jinh Yu Frey defends atomweight belt against Ashley Cummins

Atomweight champion Jinh Yu Frey will attempt to defend her crown against No. 1 Ashley Cummins at February’s Invicta FC 39 event in Kansas City.

Frey, 35, defeated Cummins by decision previously at Invicta FC 24 in July 2017. She has won her past two bouts in the company, but is coming off a decision loss to Ayaka Hamasaki at Rizin 16 in June 2019.

Cummins (7-4-0), 32, has reeled off two decision wins after losing to Frey in 2017. She will have the home field advantage once again in this rematch.

The co-main event features flyweights Miranda Maverick (6-2-0), winner of Phoenix Series 2, and former UFC contender Pearl Gonzalez (10-4-0). The winner gets closer to a potential title shot with champion Vanessa Porto.
