UFC on ESPN+ 24: Blaydes vs. dos Santos predictions
The UFC is in Raleigh, North Carolina this weekend at UFC on ESPN+ 24 as heavyweight contenders Curtis Blaydes and Junior dos Santos battle to remain in the heavyweight title conversation.
The fighters have made weight and Kenai Andrew checks in with his thoughts on the main card.
MAIN CARD (8PM ET/5PM PT)
JAMAHAL HILL (6-0-0) VS. DARKO STOSIC (13-2-0)
Andrews: Hill is making his debut which is an advantage for Stosic, but I am going with “Sweet Dreams.” He has the physical advantage and will be hungry for the finish.
Andrews Prediction: Jamahal Hill via TKO
HANNAH CIFERS (9-3-0) VS. ANGELA HILL (10-7-0)
Andrews: Cifers is a beast inside the octagon but has had some trouble with active strikers. I can see Hill using her strikes and movement to pile up the points, even on short notice.
Andrews Prediction: Angela Hill via UD
#11 JORDAN ESPINOZA (14-5-0, 1NC) VS. #12 ALEX PEREZ (22-5-0)
Andrews: Espinoza likes to go to the ground and get the submission, but he will have a tough time with Perez, who will hold his own and outwork Espinoza for the decision.
Andrews Prediction: Alex Perez via UD
#5 RAFAEL DOS ANJOS (29-11-0) VS. MICHAEL CHIESA (15-4-0)
Andrews: Dos Anjos has had trouble with bigger opponents and he has another talented one in Chiesa. Chiesa will enjoy a healthy reach advantage too and should be able to neutralize the grappling of RDA.
Andrews Prediction: Michael Chiesa via UD
#3 CURTIS BLAYDES (11-2-0, 1NC) VS. JUNIOR DOS SANTOS (21-5-0)
Andrews: Blaydes is the next generation heavyweight and I think he will take dos Santos out after some early trouble.
Andrews Prediction: Curtis Blaydes via TKO
