Ryan Bader to defend Bellator light heavyweight title against Vadim Nemkov in May

'Darth' Bader returns to the light heavyweight side

Bellator announced on Saturday that dual champion Ryan Bader (27-5-0, 1NC) will defend his light heavyweight title against Russian Vadim Nemkov (11-2-0) on May 9 in San Jose.

Bader, 36, who is also the heavyweight champion, has been competing at heavyweight for his last four fights. His last bout was a no-contest against Cheick Kongo due to an injurious eye poke. But in May, he will be at 205 pounds.

Nemkov, 27, is undefeated in four fights in the Bellator cage. His last bout was a submission win over Rafael Carvallho at Bellator 230 in October 2019.

The fight will take place at the SAP Centre in San Jose, California.

More bouts are expected to be announced.
