ARES 2: Former UFC welterweight Nordine Taleb takes on Belgium’s Maarten Wouters
Former UFC welterweight Nordine Taleb (15-7-0) will headline France’s ARES 2 show in April against Belgium’s Maarten Wouters (11-7-0).
Many UFC fans will remember the 38-year-old French Canadian, who participated in TUF Nations: Canada vs. Australia and TUF: Team Edgar vs. Team Penn. Competing in the octagon from 2014 to 2019, he went 7-5-0, scoring wins over Li Jingliang, Erick Silva, and Danny Roberts. Taleb will be competing at 185 pounds for this bout.
Meanwhile, Wouters, 31, will be looking to snap a three fight losing streak against his most notable opponent yet. His record does boast an impressive 90 percent finish rate and he will have the hometown advantage.
The co-main event also features a pair of former UFC flyweights in John Moraga (19-7-0) and Hector Sandoval (15-4-0).
ARES 2 is scheduled for April 3 at the Forest National-Vorst National Arena in Brussels, Belgium. Broadcasting details are still pending, however the event is expected to be streamed on UFC Fight Pass.
