UFC on ESPN+ 30: Carla Esparza vs. Michelle Waterson added

"The Cookie Monster" or "The Karate Hottie?"

The UFC announced during the broadcast of UFC 247 the addition of a female strawweight matchup to Portland’s UFC on ESPN+ 30 show in April.

No. 7 and former champion Carla Esparza (15-6-0) will take on No. 8 Michelle Waterson (17-7-0) in a battle of two veterans.

Esparza, 32, defeated Alexa Grasso in her last contest by majority decision, part of a current two fight win streak. She is 4-2-0 in her last six bouts.

Meanwhile, Waterson, 34, is coming off a tough loss to former champion Joanna Jedrejczyk at UFC on ESPN+ 19 in October 2019. But the popular “Karate Hottie” mother is 3-1-0 in her last four fights.

UFC on ESPN+ 30 is scheduled for April 11 at the Moda Center in Portland, Ore. The card will likely stream on ESPN+. Scheduled bouts include:

Walt Harris (13-7-0, 1NC) vs. Alistair Overeem (45-18-0, 1NC)

Tristan Connelly (14-6-0) vs. Alex Silva (9-5-0)

Alessio Di Chirico (12-4-0) vs. Markus Perez (12-3-0)

Randy Brown (12-3-0) vs. Vicente Luque (17-7-1)

Don’Tale Meyers (7-3-0) vs. Rodrigo Nascimento (7-0-0)

Carla Esparza (15-6-0) vs. Michelle Waterson (17-7-0)

Julia Avila (7-1-0) vs. Karol Rosa (12-3-0)

More bouts are expected to be announced.
