UFC on ESPN+ 26: Felder vs. Hooker predictions

The UFC is in Auckland, New Zealand this weekend as lightweights No.6 Paul Felder and No.7 Dan Hooker try to leapfrog into the top 5 of the division Saturday night.

A friendly reminder that the Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury 2 super rematch probably doesn’t start until around midnight.

Kenai Andrews checks in with his thoughts on the main card.

MAIN CARD (8PM ET/5PM PT)

BRAD RIDDELL (7-1-0) VS. MAGOMED MUSTAFAEV (15-2-0)

Andrews: This should be anfairly even matchup and not much of a barnburner of a match. But when the dust is settled, Riddell should get the decision win.

Andrews Prediction: Brad Riddell via SD

BEN SOSOLI (7-2-0, 2NC) VS. MARCOS ROGERIO DE LIMA (16-7-1)

Andrews: This fight could go either way. Both of Sosoli’s last two fights have been no-contests. And he was losing to Greg Hardy, so the advantage is to Rogerio de Lima, who recently moved up from light heavyweight, having lost two of three as well.

Andrews Prediction: Marcos Rogerio de Lima via TKO

#14 KAROLINA KOWALKIEWICZ (13-5-0) VS. YAN XIAONAN (11-1-0, 1NC)

Andrews: KK has lost three straight and it’s clear she is on her way down. But Xiaonan is where she was five years ago.

Andrews Prediction: Yan Xiaonan via UD

JIM CRUTE (10-1-0) VS. MICHAL OLEKSIEJCZUK (14-3-0, 1NC)

Andrews: Both guys have manhandled their opponents even in losses. I’m going with Crute to overcome Michal and put him out.

Andrews Prediction: Jim Crute via TKO

MAIN EVENT

#6 PAUL FELDER (17-4-0) VS. #7 DAN HOOKER (20-8-0)

Andrews: Have to go with the “Irish Dragon” to overcome the toughness of Hooker and punish him to the body with strikes.

Andrews Prediction: Paul Felder via TKO
