UFC 250: Amanda Nunes to defend featherweight belt against Felicia Spencer

Can Spencer get Nunes to the ground?

Brazilian UFC dual-champion Amanda Nunes (19-4-0) will defend her featherweight crown against Canadian Felicia Spencer (8-1-0) at Sao Paulo’s UFC 250 in May.

Nunes, 31, has been busy on the bantamweight front, defending that belt five times, most recently against Germiane de Randamie at UFC 245. But UFC 250 will mark her first defence at 145 pounds since winning the belt from Cris Cyborg at UFC 232 in December 2018.

Spencer, 29, recently stopped Zarah Fairn at UFC on ESPN+ 27 in Norfolk. And although she had her undefeated streak snapped by Cyborg at UFC 240 last July, she will come armed with the experience of facing top level competition.

UFC 250 is scheduled for May 9 at the Ginásio do Ibirapuera in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Scheduled matches include:

Amanda Nunes (19-4-0) vs. Felicia Spencer (8-1-0)

Henry Cejudo (15-2-0) vs. Jose Aldo (28-6-0)

Mauricio Rua (26-11-1) vs. Antonio Rodrigo Noguiera (23-9-0)

Fabricio Werdum (23-8-1) vs. Alexey Oleynik (58-13-1)

Blagoy Ivanov (18-3-0) vs. Augusto Sakai (14-1-1)

Ketlen Vieira (10-1-0) vs. Marlon Reneau (9-5-1)

Bethe Correia (11-4-1) vs. Pannie Kianzad (12-5-0)

Carlos Felipe (8-0-0) vs. Sergey Spivak (10-2-0)

More bouts are expected to be announced.
